Race Preview – Round 14 – Broxtowe Country Park – Beeston CC

Well folks, this is it – the last round of the 2014-2015 SRAM NDCXL season. It doesn’t seem long since the season kicked off in a haze of sunshine and blisters at Hilton but here we are.
Thankfully we’re ending on a high, as Beeston CC are once again returning to the Broxtowe Country Park venue, scene of last year’s frankly epic final round. Whilst the organisers can’t promise the same degree of extreme weather events as last year, they can promise a ‘new improved’ version of the course.
The flat section on the main area of the park has been removed from the course – if you rode last year you’ll be glad of that for sure, and the course is now based around the woods and ‘valley’ area of the park.
Expect to be faced with some steep, slippery banking, off camber sections, and most of all some running at some point. Make no mistake, the clay soil is unforgiving at Broxtowe, and with the course already reported to be rather wet, it’s not going to get any easier.
Even though most of the league tables are already decided, and the conditions are likely to be tough, don’t use that as an excuse to stay at home. This race has the potential to be one to remember, and it’s going to be a long time before we can all race again!
See you all at Broxtowe!
